Ok I have been standing around in the acid pools of bedlam myself. It is likely that I just did not notice it at the time and was blaming gauntlet for my trouble.

I went and wore my most knowledge person to gauntlet and the thing was losing ten points at a time in durability.

Is gauntlet the only place this happens?
