This would be a remake right
They made 1 in the 80’s
Sting was in it what a great freaking actor he is
I remember it coming on, on tv and waking up during the end credits.
I must say it was one of my top 10 afternoon naps of all time.
It was a wonderful piece of crap
Let’s hope Denis Villeneuve does a better job of directing

Dune is a MASSIVE story... the thing is, the film is like 1% of the story... so it doesn't really make sense.

Jessica is badass ^.^
shame about Alia goin nuts.
Alice Krige is such an awesome older lady. she's in so many good sci-fi's.

she's the borg queen :D

Suppose Alia was always a bit nuts

but the actual dune story starts a loooooooong time before the film is set, and ends a looooooooooooong time after it.
the universe it's set in has like Tolkien levels of complexity. hardly any fantasy stories bother to do that, and even less sci-fi.
game of thrones, warhammer 40k, star trek.. warcraft maybe. its a very short list, but Dune is definitely on it.
even Star Wars failed to create a realistic expansive universe (unless you count all the extended lore, which the official people apparently dont)

SW has got extended lore... it's just all made by third party people. so the studio didn't take it as canon. the films on their own really kinda have nothing... the dune film is the same.

but dune was a book before a film. so the lore is canon for that.

She warned you; you are now forever warned so when it happens you cannot cry or claim victim. You have been served, Sir. Keep it up and she will ban something alright. Unless of course that is what you want.. just pay the gold it's much more efficient and keeps what should be private, private. Unless of course you want an audience; then I want my gold first.

Anytime you see:

Consider that a warning.. almost like its too late to stop death is already here warning; but a warning none the less. I am sorry if that image prompted the Dune post; that's on me and I will take my lumps as they come. But how the hockey sticks did we get from Dune to Star Wars so quickly. :lol:

dune being epic and them making a new one, and star wars having an expanded universe that's not included in the films are both interesting facts :P

many people use incomplete or misunderstood sayings, ie:

Great minds think alike. {But fools never differ}

Jack of all trades. {Master of none}

Blood is thicker than water. {The blood of the fraternity, is thicker than the water of the womb}
- this literally means the opposite of what it is taken to mean, and refers to the bond of 'blood brothers' being stronger than family ties.

Shooting a fish in a barrel.
is actually very difficult. the fish will die from the pressure wave in the water, but you didn't actually shoot it, and given the refraction of the light, and the way water effects bullets speed and trajectory, it's actually pretty impossible to shoot the fish.

The English language has about 3,000 words to describe the state of being drunk.

One of which is "ramsquaddled."

Who wants to get ramsquaddled?
