Dearest mother —
Celebration for our recent victory was cut short as we received notice the painted Ruffians residing in the Land of Oak seek battle.

Dearest mother —
I have received your care package of antler bread and fresh Squirrel Oil. We continue our march to the Land of Oak. Scouts report the area is vast, but empty. The ground itself black, riddled with bones. The sea — silver in color. Most disturbing.

Dearest mother —
I dare say the tide has turned. The unit secured another victory in the Land of Oak. We found light in an otherwise Black Hole. What is more, Sgt. Vinatieri proved himself the greatest sniper among all those who battle. My smile is wide. I love you.

Dearest mother —
The week of carousing has concluded. We must get back to fighting form as a group of Jungle Cat men seek battle and are on their way. Our men are in good spirits. Victory agrees with them, so we shall seek another. Please inform the hogs I am well.

I have received your care package of spiced raccoon cheeks and flattened snake strips. The Jungle Cat men inch closer to our camp. Scouts report hearing growls in the distance and have found traces of grits along their trail. Troubling.

Thrice in a row we have achieved victory. I am overcome with joy. The Jungle Cat men dug in their claws, but we were able to hold them off. The sun shines brighter everyday. It feels good. It feels right. I love you.

Dearest mother —
Word has reached me that Titans of industry out of the Ten Sea are headed toward our home camp. They seek battle with the goal of halting our success in recent skirmishes. We shall not have it. There is too much light in the tunnel now. We are poised.

I am overcome with joy. Our unit was victorious once more. That is now four battles in a row where we have triumphed. Magnificent. My sidearm has never been more true. My resolve is mighty. Fortune smiles — and so do we. I miss you.

The merriment over our most recent victory must be cut short. Word has reached me that a unit of Dolphin men seek battle. Confounding. While they march to our dry land home camp, we shall drill in water so as not to be outmaneuvered. Great vigilance.

I have received your care package of of spiced turkey neck and chipmunk giblet dressing. I fully intend to share with the unit as we give Thanks before the Dolphin men arrive. We continue to prepare by holding our breath under water, along with drills.

I write you so full of joy, I might burst. Our unit secured yet another victory. That makes five straight, or an entire hand. The Dolphin men put up a great fight, but our aquatic drilling paid dividends. Our trusted sniper capped the win. I am beaming.

Dearest mother —
My disappointment is immeasurable. Our unit fell to the Jungle Cat men. We simply were unable to gain the necessary ground to fortify a victory. I find myself flummoxed by the outcome of the final maneuver of the battle. We must learn and move onward.
