When did this happen... and why.. tell me why...

Post by kentares »

Sorted by year:

Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 1 (1987) - 25 Episodes

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Season 1 (1993) - 19 Episodes

Babylon 5 Season 1 (1994) - 22 Episodes

BattleStar Galactica Season 1 (2004) - 13 Episodes

Game of Thrones Season 1 (2011) - 10 Episodes

House of Cards Season 1 (2013) - 13 Episodes

The Expanse Season 1(2015) - 10 Episodes

Taboo Season 1(2017) - 8 Episodes

I say bring back 1987 - 1994 when television series production was on top of it. :geek:

...and yes this is what a week off from work has me most worried about it

Simply put 2 thing decide if a show gets a 8-13ep season or 22+. Production cost and viewership. Shows like game of thrones have extremely high cost and only appeal to a certain market so you get 10ep seasons of some of the best tv man has ever made, but shows like vampire diaries and supernatural cost fall less to make have a wider target range due to being on basic tv vs hbo and quiet frankly they dont give a shit if the story is repeative cause people still tune in and you get 20+ eps.
