I noticed that dragon barding gives different resists and armour points to a swampie depending on what type of ingots you use. I could see this helping a bit if you're dismounted and your swampie gets attacked, but does it make any difference other than that? Or is it basically all the same once you're mounted? (apart from the obvious difference in damage reduction for exceptional vs. normal of course) I.e. if you're not routinely getting knocked off your swampie, is there any reason to have coloured barding?

Your link is from an update past the Demise cut off point
This passage
Colored Armor
Colored armor imparts no more protection than iron armor; the use of colored ingots to produce dragon barding is for aesthetic reasons only. Vendors do tend to charge more for colored barding deeds, so choose wisely.

Shit, I didn't even think to look at the history. Never mind, I am a dipshit.

When you get the right dragon barding and your color scheme is on point.
