i make my own macros, because ZERO SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE IS REQUIRED.

that's the point, if you need to do all this to play the game, no-one will bother. especially not when you've lost the fucking point of doing it anyway

if i get a custom client and change the nature of my gaming experience here, then it'd be PandorasBox. but dont worry because im not going to. i play this game because it's old skool. new stuff sux, case and point. well it doesn't suck, but it's not the same. it's sort of... souless, like a bot.

It is standard. On the old forums there were plenty of razor macros available. Why? Because razor was standard for a very long time.

noooo, because the game needs to stay playable outside of the current population. once we get too specialized, and extras become requirements, that's the beginning of the end.

the thing is right, i played with easyUO back in the day.
UOsteam is basically just razor with built in easyUO, but easyUO has always been illegal really.
bringing out UOsteam was basically legalizing scripting, but to me it's still cheating.

all of this shit like the AFK checks, the messed up PvP, the inflated or deflated economy; is because they legalized scripting

cos they'll be fkin pages and pages long.. i would wager people are only using like 10% of what the language can really do. i think only MB is actually a scripter here...

urgh.. it might be a good one to get me back into it i suppose.. right, get the GM's to change the website to push steam, get MB to put together a basic scripts pack, then make a new download bundle for the client.

then i'll get it, and as a bonus i'll test it all works.

then get the donation store back up, and advertise.

if this is how it is, then we should all move to steam and script assisted playing. but it needs the backing off the staff, and it needs to be accessible.
(the ironic part is you're all gonna lose your privileged places as pros... jees.. we're gonna have EVERYONE gold farming... i have no idea what this will do to the economy)



this is a matter of ethics.

if it's okay for 1 person to do it, then it should be okay for everyone to do it. and if the whole system breaks down, that's the definition of immoral.

my biggest problem with steam at the moment is not AFKing, it's auto-targeting.

i think 2 things the GMs should actually take action on, would be spawning bosses with 5-10 seconds of invulnerability so people can get the target up.

and increasing the hp of the mechanical solons, so auto-target archers cant one shot it the millisecond it spawns

as for the rest, yas are cheating bastards lol, but it doesn't massively matter, as long as it's still possible to do it without the cheats. but if it's not possible then there is a problem; and it's up to you which way you wanna solve that in. but for the moment treating the symptoms will be enough. tbh credit to staff for meshing 2 styles of playing that are so massively different, as much as they have; but bear in mind that you will always be bandaging problems like this while you have 2 distinct groups of players - that's why games generally only have one client.

ps. if everyone has steam, then won't they have to adjust the drop rates and things, gold per monster etc, to balance with the new reality? see this is the thing, you are benefiting from drop rates that are made to be playable without automation. if everyone has automation, those drop rates change to accommodate that. that's what the people without steam are complaining about, because they have to make the rates really bad because of the people with it. that's what i mean by you will lose your privileged positions. you're like modern feminists/middle class millennials "why cant you all just be rich like me?" because for someone to be rich, someone else has to be poor. ie. there is no benefit to scripts if everyone has them.

also check if there has been a disproportionate number of logins today, because the place was busier than usual... not in a good way. over-crowded, not enough drops to go around. i think just a higher number of players than usual, but needs some balance i guess, or just a bigger place/more spawns. it's good in a way, popular. i might have just been unlucky and had a bad day, but if the population was much higher than usual, and if that sticks, then some tweaking would be good. it's really quiet now, but before it was packed.

then again, i suppose it's encouragement to go do peerless and things instead.. hmm suppose it's fine. dunno tho.. i've had like 1 drop today, out of like.. pfft over 30 bosses... broken chest of drawers... oh and a rotten pumpkin. oh and a marble table, but that doesn't really count cos it's a world drop. loooads of ML, tots, and powerscrolls. not even counting the plant tapestries now i have like 8 of them.. this year's wyrm heart. but really that's like 8 tapestries, 6 clown masks, i do think maybe something decent should have dropped by now, that's ignoring all the ones that didn't drop anything, and all the ones that dropped filler.. on the other hand there's still a long time to go, and im still getting rolls. some consistency would be nice tho lol

Tbh, I didn't read most of this post or the rest. Your point was this: people will quit playing[not start/return] if uos is the standard.

My point is this: UOS is the standard and we are still getting new players. So much so that I made a guild to absorb them and give them friends to play with.

UOS isn't the standard, just anyone not using it isn't a power player, and is hence under your radar.

and yeah the game is still playable without UOS. for the moment. what im saying is that when it does become standard - they will have to re-balance everything so as having UOS does not make you a power player. THEN you wont be able to play without it.

if you look the prices of things, it's already halfway there. but staff do a very very very good job of making ways of balancing it out. like these events, and the universal chances of a drop.

but that's basically why i only play the events these days. nothing else is worth playing because everyone else has automated it.

it's like we had an industrial revolution, and typically it made some people very rich, and some people very poor, destroyed community, family unit (guilds)...

I do not think the problem is UOsteam.
The problem is in the Demise Staff, who do nothing but check who's online, the player goes there, the GM responds, and returns everything as it was five minutes before!
And the multiple accounts that are in each boss with macro turned on causing lag and other riots in players who are playing fair.
I'm not able to play, I can not go pvp with a single day account due to the lag I'm having.
And during the crumpled one I consider opening two beads at most and having a poor playing quality.
I'm feeling a lot hurt because everyone is taking the awards for the event and I'm just Ltot, that's when I still can because I usually do not get anything.
And this is not just happening to me.
Demise's employees do nothing.
I do not know why we still lose the time to complain ....

i think they have lowered the drop rates some to be cautious, drops do seem too low, but they will put it up later if they stay low.. they can see the numbers i think, so easier/better to go by that.
but if they are dropping like 10 garb, and they all go to the same person, then they need to sort that out before they turn it up to 100 garb

There are more than 10 types of alarm macro for warning when GM appears!
They wake up and go back to sleep as soon as the GM leaves.
They will not do anything, you know very well which guild is catching all Garb, everyone knows.

it was 1kkk and not 2kk!

The event was published before with date and time, however it gave macro to the closest friends to get more money than the others!
A friend of mine who is also his friend gave me the macro on the day!
