Trials of Treasure

Post by Eos »

Trials of Treasure
7th - 28th September 2019

For the month of September we will be running a special treasure hunting themed event, consisting of the following additions:
  • All dug up treasure chests have a chance to contain a 1-charge random Demise Darkside Dye pigment bottle. The chance is doubled in Felucca.
  • The intensities of the other loot contained in dug up treasure chests has been improved to be comparable to higher-end monster loot.
Additionally, there are also a few twists:
  • Monsters in Ilshenar and paragon chests will drop treasure maps for somewhere in Ilshenar instead of Trammel, to one of 135 new treasure locations.
  • When any chest is dug up, all chest guardians must be killed before the chest can be opened.

Happy hunting from the Demise team!

Thats an interesting idea, im just worried how will players find each other in fellucia - treasure chests have many different locations, maybe it will be difficult to track all of them.

Put your boots on the ground.

Fantastic event. I love that you put some PvP incentive to it as well.

More to the game than automated castle placements and PVP Alvin.

They work! Try digging around, the map pins can be a little deceptive. You will know you're getting close when it says "You dig and dig but no treasure seems to be here" instead of "You dig and dig but fail to find any treasure". It helps if you have mining skill!

It’s 1 tile radius per 10 points in mining right?

Paragon chests have either a Felucca or a Trammel treasure map inside them normally, only the Trammel ones are now Ilshenar. ;)

(skill bonuses from equipment apply)
0.0-50.9 mining = 1 tile
51.0-80.9 mining = 2 tiles
81.0-99.9 mining = 3 tiles
100.0 mining = 4 tiles

Of course, if you have a Davies' Locker at your disposal, it will give you the exact (sextant) coordinates of where to dig. :D
