Update February 22, 2019

The following changes will go into effect during server wars tonight:
  • The "OSI Casting" dueling option will now also affect the delayed damage of the following spells in the same way as the casting delay (i.e. adding a "random" delay up to 0.25 seconds):
    • Magic Arrow
    • Fireball
    • Mind Blast
    • Energy Bolt
    • Explosion
    • Chain Lightning
    • Flame Strike
    • Meteor Swarm
  • Spells cast by anyone on the island of Ocllo in Felucca will now always use OSI casting. For now, this area will serve as a testing grounds for the OSI casting mechanics. To be exact, the OSI casting region lies between X,Y coordinates (3300, 2325) and (3849, 2959), only in the Felucca facet.

    Spells cast anywhere else remain unchanged.

not random delay for delayed spells its .25 longer flat not delayed. not sure the timer on explosion however.

appreciate the change.

I personally hope y’all are committed to fel-wide change and that’s what the testing is for and not for “testing to see how many people try it” because I doubt you’ll get any new players to come over to try regional casting, and I doubt it’ll get a ton of returning players so numbers will be skewed most likely.

But still I appreciate the change and you guys/gals considering osi casting even after all these years.

COOL!

I was the most active pvper on the server, but havnt played in 5 days. I might hop on tonight though and try it out.

Remember no change has to be permanent, but the excitement of constant changing and additions can be.

We performed some OSI testing before implementing this change and did not observe flat 0.25s longer delays. Rather, the delays between the spells listed above going off and the damage being applied were (uniformly distributed) 0 to 0.25s longer than Demise delays. (Just like OSI casting delays.)

I see you took my idea to heart and improved on it. Interesting! Did you disable guards there as well?
