Total stats are capped at 225 for new accounts. At 6 months, all characters will have their stat cap raised by 5 points to 230. Also, Scrolls of Power can be found to raise your stat cap by up to 25 points and the special Scroll of Valiant Commendation allows a further +5 giving a final total possible of 260. Individual stats are capped at 125 real (150 with items).
– Stat gain is linked to skill gain, only when you gain in skill will you gain in stats, it is, however possible to gain in stats if the skill involved is at cap, provided it is still set to raise.
– All skills now have a primary and secondary stat. The primary stat will rise 75% of the time. The secondary stat will rise 25% of the time. If the primary stat is not set to “gain”, the secondary stat will be chosen. If the primary and secondary stats are both locked or set to “decrease”, neither stat will rise.
Note: If a stat is at the maximum individual stat cap of 125 and is not locked, it can be chosen, but it will not rise.
– The chance that a stat will increase on any given skill gain is 1 in 20.- Purchasing skill training from an NPC will not raise stats.
– There is no cap on how many stat points you can gain in any given time period
– Individual stats are capped at 125 real with a total cap of 150 including bonuses from items.

Re: [NEW not really]Stat Gain
The secondary stat of meditation is Strength. I'm assuming since you are regaining mana, meditation is passively being used as a skill, hence the strength gain.

Re: [NEW not really]Stat Gain
I noticed you didn't highlight this line: "it is, however possible to gain in stats if the skill involved is at cap, provided it is still set to raise."Bama wrote:link to irrelevant report
The other day I was trying to gain stats using arms lore while my lore was at cap. I paged because I thought you could gain at cap if you had the arrow pointed up. The staff member on duty[Tetra?] informed me that I couldn't gain after I was unable to gain in skill points. If I am reading this line I highlighted above correctly this isn't osi accurate.
Is this bug report supposed to be all inclusive for [stat gain] or would you like another report made?

This report is about stats and how you shouldn't lose any stats until you are at stat cap

Re: Stat Gain
Is there any chance you will look at this again
Maybe it wasn't explained correctly the 1st time.
Maybe it was explained correctly but you want it to be OSI but better?
On OSI if you are not at your stat cap you can't lower a stat
Once you reach your stat cap you can lower a stat to gain in another stat
On Demise you can lower a stat (sometimes) before you reach your stat cap.
So ok OSI but better
But if you want to go that route it should happen all the time and not whenever
I'm working armslore on a character to raise my INT I need more mana right now to recall around
Armslore will raise........... Primary INT Secondary STR
I lock STR
I have DEX set to lower
I have INT set to gain
I run a simple macro
I lose a DEX stat and gain an INT stat
I gain 1 INT stat (no DEX loss)
I gain 1 INT stat (no DEX loss)
I lose a DEX stat and gain an INT stat
I lose a DEX stat and gain an INT stat

Re: Stat Gain
This report was marked as invalid because the strength gain in the original post was due to meditation gains, and the gaining stats at a skill's cap--albeit slow--is working on Demise.
Though you may be on to something with the stats lowering! I'll rename the thread and mark it as accepted.
It should be noted that on Demise the lowering of other stats isn't guaranteed to occur with every stat gain, it is a chance based on how close to the stats cap you are. (80% towards your stats cap would mean an 80% chance.) It might need a few more tries to rule out this behavior on OSI.

Re: Stat Gain
It should only lower at stat cap and it is 100% at that timeEos wrote: ↑August 26th, 2019, 9:53 pm It should be noted that on Demise the lowering of other stats isn't guaranteed to occur with every stat gain, it is a chance based on how close to the stats cap you are. Here is a character that is 5 stat points under the stat cap
Eval Int will raise........... Primary INT Secondary STR
I have STR ( 110 ) locked
I have DEX (125 ) set to lower
I have INT (15 ) set to gain
DEX will not lower until I reach 20 (+5) stat points in INT
I reported this on the forum before this one
I used a +5 stat scroll on my scribe
I reported that I had to lose 5 DEX points before I was able to gain the 5 INT points that I wanted
Stats (and skills) can not lower until you are at your cap
We all remember making a new character and gaining those freaking 7 points in focus because we took a step before we remembered to lock or set that skill to lower. Thank you for that fix
Regarding Stat Gain I appreciate all the work you have done with it because before you came along we had to first get at our Skill Cap and then do Arms Lore over night and hope that the character gained more than 12 stats ( ahhh memories ). Now we can gain as we play
Again THANK YOU!!!!
